Tobias Otterbring, University of Agder, Norway

Tobias Otterbring, PhD Psychology, works as a Professor of Marketing at the University of Agder, Norway. His academic interests center on social influence, impression management, and nonverbal behavior, with these phenomena often addressed through field studies capturing behavioral outcomes. Tobias' research has appeared in top-tier outlets in psychology, marketing, and management, such as the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, the Journal of Marketing Research, and the British Journal of Management. He is an Editorial Board Member of several journals, including Food Quality and Preference, PLOS One, and the Journal of Consumer Policy, and he has received some international academic awards, such as the 27th Academy of Marketing Science Mary Kay Doctoral Dissertation Award and the 2022 Outstanding Paper Emerald Literati Award based on a lead-authored article in the Journal of Managerial Psychology.
