Emma Feeney, University College Dublin, Ireland
Dr. Emma Feeney is an Assistant Professor in UCD’s Institute of Food and Health, where she joined the faculty in 2017, and co-ordinates modules in Human Eating behaviour, Food Ingredients, and Sensory science. Her research interests lie at the intersection between taste and flavour perception, food consumption and human health, with >40 publications in this area to date. Her work examines taste perception and food preferences, as well as human intervention studies on response to a variety of foods, food structures, and functional food ingredients. Emma received her BSc in Genetics from Queen’s University Belfast and her PhD in Human Nutrition and Sensory Science from University College Dublin.
She is a Principal Investigator in the FHI3 Technology centre in work packages on Healthy Cheese, Grass-fed Dairy and Fermented Dairy Ingredients. Emma is the Secretary for the Nutrition Society Irish Section, an Associate Editor at BMC Nutrition, and also serves as First Editor at both the British Journal of Nutrition and at the Journal of Nutritional Science.
