Hector is a senior lecturer and researcher of sensory and consumer sciences at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) in Mexico City. He is a food engineer from UAM and has a PhD in food science from Strathclyde University in Glasgow, UK. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students in the courses “Sensory Evaluation and Consumer Studies” and “Experimental Design” at the UAM Iztapalapa Campus. His research focuses on the development of flavors and the sensory characterization of foods and alcoholic beverages. He examines the correlation between instrumental measurements and sensory profiling using conventional and rapid methods. Moreover, he focuses on consumer perception, including emotions, product experience, and food pairing. He is also a member of the Latam Sensory Network and the Mexican Association of Sensory and Consumer Sciences (AMCSC).
